Vision For a Lifetime

When you choose Durrie Vision, it’s important to know that we have a plan. A plan for you and your lifetime of great vision! When our doctors look into your eyes today, not only can they assess your eye health and vision needs now, but they can anticipate your vision care needs for the future.

Vision for a Lifetime is charting a plan for the next 40 to 50 years. Our Advanced Ocular Analysis is the most comprehensive exam available anywhere in the world. Sure, we can help you reach your vision goals today, but it’s important to know what the future may hold for you as well. Each person’s vision is unique, and our doctors can advise you on how to achieve your best vision for a lifetime.

Your Vision Timeline

At Durrie Vision, we want to do more than help you see better today, we want you to see better for good.

Half the population is born with congenital eye defects that result in nearsightedness or farsightedness and will require vision correction at an early age, the other half will need vision correction once they reach their 40’s for near or reading vision as presbyopia sets in.

As we age, our eyes age as well. We know that most cases of nearsightedness will surface between 8 to 12 years of age. Eyes reach maturation usually between 18-21 years of age. The lens of the eye starts to harden and yellow as young as the age of 30, but true cataracts where vision is distorted, can hamper vision anywhere from ages 45 to 80. And, of course, the decrease of near vision, or presbyopia, sets in for everyone in their 40’s.
