Community Involvement

Durrie Vision plays an active role in the Kansas City community. With our ophthalmic research, we play a vital role in the Kansas City Life Sciences initiative. We also actively support local charitable organizations.

Durrie Vision patients donate their eye glasses to be recycled by the Lions Club.

Lions Club Eyeglass Program

We encourage our patients to donate their eyeglasses after their vision correction surgery since they no longer need them! The Lions Club has recycled thousands of pairs of eyeglasses and redistributes them to those in need both domestically and internationally. Durrie Vision is proud to be part of this effort!

Junior League of Kansas City Holiday Mart

Durrie Vision has been a sponsor of the Junior League’s annual Holiday Mart. Proceeds from the Holiday Mart go back directly to the Kansas City community. Holiday Mart funds have made it possible for the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri to give over $1.2 Million since 2000 to support children’s literacy programs in our community.

Supporting Our Troops

In 2008, Durrie Vision adopted an Army Platoon in Afghanistan, sending care packages every other month to the soldiers in the troop that did not receive any mail.

Durrie Vision was proud to support soldiers with mail and goody bags from the states.
