Durrie Vision is opening the virtual doors to a whole new view of our refractive surgery practice. Our new site, www.durrievision.com is a streamlined, visually appealing website that conveys a range of information about LASIK, PRK, refractive lens implants and all the other procedures our doctors’ offer. The website features a number of sleek internet video documentaries, including a variety of interviews with the practice’s doctors and patients, including baseball Hall-of-Famer George Brett! Our new site also includes a unique section devoted to Durrie Vision’s Vision for a Lifetime program. We hope the site will open people’s eyes to the many options available for improving their eyesight.

Stahl Leads Courses at National Physician Meeting

OVERLAND PARK, Kan (April 9, 2009) – Dr. Jason Stahl, Director of Refractive Lens Surgery at Durrie Vision, conducted two presentations at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons held in San Francisco in April 2009. “Comparing Crystalens HD to other Presbyopia-correcting IOL combinations and Pseudophakic Monovision in Refractive Lens Exchange” was presented to refractive surgeons from around the country. He spoke about how to use different intra ocular lenses (IOLs) to improve both distant and near vision following refractive lens exchange. Clinical research data was presented to explain how each advanced IOL performs and how to choose the best IOL for individual patient needs.

The second presentation, “Quality of Life and Functional Status Assessment Following Implantation of AcrySof Phakic Angle Supported IOL,” highlighted the substantial reduction of dependence on corrective lenses, improved quality of life and functional status, and improved patient satisfaction of high myopia patients following implantation of the lens. Stahl is an investigator for the FDA Clinical trial Alcon AcrySof Phakic IOL used to treat myopia (nearsightedness).
