From my first office visit, to my surgery and final post-op exams, you and your staff displayed the highest level of professionalism, courtesy, and competency. It was very easy for me to trust my eyes … my world … to your team. The actual procedure was fascinating to me. It was painless and quick. My recovery was a piece of cake. I had good vision by the next day and continue to see improvements everyday. Sometimes I catch myself looking at the city skyline on my way into the studio thinking, "Wow! The city has never looked so clear." But even that pales in comparison to being able to see every detail of my little girl’s face. So for clarity that ranges from a baby’s face to a distant thunderstorm … thank you! You have not only changed my life, but you will continue to affect the lives of many people around Kansas City in more ways than one.
A few years ago, after having excellent eyesight all of my life, I started to have trouble reading small print. I came to see Dr. Durrie a year ago and he told me I wasn't quite ready to have a vision correction procedure yet. A year later, he performed LASIK in just one eye to restore near vision and correct an astigmatism and everything has been perfect since my surgery. The next morning I went to have coffee with a friend before my one day post op visit, and told him I could read the newspaper that morning without my reading glasses. My friend called Durrie Vision that day to schedule a consultation for himself! By the way, I was 20/15 the day after surgery. Tanna Guthrie
I just wanted to let you know how thrilled I am with Dr. Durrie and Durrie Vision. I had both the Lasik and C.K. surgery and would go to no one else. When it comes to my eyes, I want the best and Dr. Durrie is. I mean, afterall, he's the doctor who teaches others the latest technology. I have total confidence in him and would recommend him to anyone. In fact, I'm a charity fundraising auctioneer and at a recent auction, I sold a Lasik package from Durrie Vision. I was a recipient of the Focus on Independence program and I had LASIK surgery 2 years ago. Before the surgery, I constantly struggled with my glasses and contacts. You see, without the use of my hands, I was unable to get the contacts in and out by myself and when my glasses got dirty or rained on, I had to find someone to clean them for me. When I first heard that Dr. Durrie offered the surgery at no cost for persons with disabilities, I couldn’t believe that someone would be so generous. From beginning to end, they were wonderful. Today I see 20/20 and I am so thankful for this foundation. They gave me even more independence, which is sometimes hard for me to come by. I could never begin to tell them how much I truly appreciate this gift everyday of my life. So thank you to Dr. Durrie and the Focus on Independence foundation. I just wanted to say thank you! It is life altering to see. The colors are so crisp and I can see the alarm clock in the morning. I was 20/80 both eyes and 20/90 individually prior to the surgery. Less that 24 hours later I am 20/12 both eyes and 20/16 individually. I'm not sure why I got so worried the 15 minutes prior to surgery ... now it seems like a breeze. Why didn't I do it earlier? I have talked my nurse into having her daughter come see you, also one of our technicians, and I am working on the other RN. My administrative assistant called me at home on Saturday to see how it was, and the nurse practitioners I work with have all asked. I'll be at a social function Friday night with all the providers ... you should just give me a stack of your business cards (not joking). The Director of Cardiovascular Consultants in Administrationcame up and said she might see you. She knows how detailed I am with my research and that I would only go to the best. And yes ... you are the best. So keep healthy, exercise daily, eat fruits and veggies. The world needs you. Your staff was great and I appreciate your talents so very much. Pat Setser
I have just returned from performing at Carnegie Hall. Our band received two standing ovations. Thanks to you I could see absolutely everything perfectly clearly. I never missed a note. Everything was crystal clear and vibrant. A trip to Carnegie Hall is a once in a lifetime event. And I saw it all. Glasses couldn't fix cataracts; I needed lens replacement and it is fantastic. What a tremendous gift!
