Durrie Vision Announces Program for the Disabled

Overland Park, KS (July 21, 2003) - Daniel Durrie, MD, announced today the official launch of the Durrie Vision Program for the Disabled. Dr. Durrie provides free surgery for individuals with physical conditions that prevent them from handling their glasses and contacts without assistance. "I've provided this service informally for a number of years," Dr. Durrie said. "We're now pushing for a larger scale program that I'm hopeful will eventually take the program into cities across the United States and beyond." As part of the program, Dr. Durrie provides pre-operative exams, laser or surgical vision correction, and post-operative exams at no charge for qualified individuals. To qualify, patients must meet the following criteria: 1. Physically unable to handle their glasses and contacts without assistance. 2. Good candidate for laser or surgical vision correction, i.e. healthy eyes, within proper prescription range, age 21 or older.
