Erin Durrie Stahl, MD,  Recognized for "Best Paper" by International Ophthalmology Organization

OVERLAND PARK, KS (October 27, 2005) – Erin Durrie Stahl, MD, was honored during the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting in Chicago last week for preparing and presenting one of the ophthalmology profession’s top 10 papers of 2005.  She presented a summary of the paper to the symposium on October 18.

Stahl presented the results of a study completed by the Durrie Vision research department. The team addressed the topic of “Measuring Accommodation in Patients with Presbyopia (aging eyes), No Presbyopia, Standard Intraocular Lens (IOL), or Accommodating IOL.”  Frank Schwendeman, OD, of Durrie Vision was instrumental in the analysis of the study results and preparation of the report.

The top ten were selected from hundreds of papers presented over the year in the specialty areas of cataract, refractive, cornea/external disease and glaucoma.

“I’m very proud of Erin,” said Daniel S. Durrie, MD, an internationally recognized ophthalmologist, and Erin’s proud father.  “In our profession to have a paper selected as one of the top 10 for the year is truly a very well respected achievement.”
