Advanced Laser Vision Correction

Vision Correction Technology

Surgeon experience combined with the latest advances in laser vision technology are the two most important elements that determine how you will see after laser vision correction. At Durrie Vision, we invest heavily in training and in leading edge technology. Our commitment to you is that we will not take short cuts to save you a few dollars. If you are shopping around for laser vision correction, use this section of our Web site to compare our technology to others. You can also view our  handy, "Checklist of things to ask your LVC provider" page.

Diagnostic Technology:

State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment is important because it's used to determine whether you are a candidate for vision correction, and if so, which procedure is most appropriate for you. It's also used to calculate the customized settings for the laser for your laser treatments and the proper lens for refractive lens procedures.

Durrie Vision was the first practice in the area offering customized LASIK to treat specific vision problems. If you would like to view a Webcast seminar on Custom Wavefront LASIK, click here.

Lasers:

Now in its third decade of use, the technologically advanced Excimer laser has added a tremendous amount of precision, control and safety to treating nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. We have a choice of Excimer lasers so we can choose the laser that is best suited to treat your specific eye condition.

We were the first practice in the area offering blade-free LASIK, bringing a new level of safety and assurance to vision correction surgery by providing an all-laser approach for optimal precision.

Dr. Durrie is the only surgeon in Kansas City performing Sub-Bowman's Keratomileusis (SBK), an advanced procedure that offers:

  • A more immediate improvement in vision
  • Decreased treatment time
  • Maintained and possibly increased corneal strength
  • Increased accuracy
  • Reduced risk of complications

Refractive Lenses

Refractive lenses, either to replace or enhance the power of the eye's natural lens offer sharp, permanent, quality vision. Most modern lenses accommodate, allowing you to focus on objects near, far and all distances in-between.
